Like every web host, ours (Simply.com, in Denmark) keeps short-lived server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, to keep the site running and secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working, secure site.
Checkout is run by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle's checkout script loads only when you choose to buy. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address and handles them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. Paddle is based in the United Kingdom, which the EU recognises as protecting personal data to an adequate standard.
From Paddle we receive what we need to fulfil the order:
We use these details to send your licence key, send it again if you lose it, and answer support requests. The legal basis is the contract between us, plus Danish bookkeeping law for order records.
We do not send marketing emails, and we never sell or share your details with anyone who does not need them to deliver your order.
Order records are kept for five years, as Danish bookkeeping law requires. Licence records are kept for as long as the licence is in use, so we can re-send your key. Support emails are deleted when they are no longer needed.
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, have them deleted, restrict or object to how we use them, or receive them in a portable format, where the law allows. Email support@bellfoundaudio.com.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.
